Art for the Masses

Jakarta’s appetite for art, while sometimes seemingly dormant, was aroused once again at this year’s formerly known as Bazaar Art Jakarta. Besides the name change, this year’s fair also introduced a new video art competition along with collaborations with galleries from all around the world. As it was once again held at The Ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place, this year’s Art Jakarta also saw a huge turnout including both dedicated art enthusiasts as well as intrigued mall-goers. Art, it would seem, is very much alive and well in the capital.
