The post-punk group Interpol returns after a four-year hiatus. And besides that, for the first time in ten years, Interpol opened themselves up to the input of a producer, in this case Dave Fridmann. So, their latest album, called “Marauder,” sounds a bit like an experiment. Case in point: “The Rover,” with its catchy but dark nuances. The driving beats sound simple at first, but when you pay closer attention, turns out to be much more complex. It is not a bad thing, mind you— it’s just not the same.
