Here at Ex­quis­ite Me­dia, we take our food very se­ri­ously, ap­pre­ci­at­ing ev­ery sin­gle el­e­ment that goes into all those de­lec­ta­ble dishes. How­ever, even the most ex­otic in­gre­di­ents and the most metic­u­lous cook­ing tech­niques don’t mat­ter with­out the cre­ative minds and magic hands of the chefs.

In this edi­tion of Ex­quis­ite Taste, we pay homage to our favourite chefs across Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Sin­ga­pore and Hong Kong in the Cover Story pages. We take a look at their jour­neys – from some­times hum­ble be­gin­nings to be­com­ing the most re­spected names in the culi­nary scene. We also give a preview of what their prized dishes are like, so pre­pare your ap­petite.

In the spirit of get­ting fa­mil­iar with th­ese culi­nary wizards, we get Up Close and Per­sonal with chefs Hugo Ber­tolini from Grand Hy­att Jakarta, Rey­naldo DELUNA II from The Seminyak Beach Re­sort & Spa, Ash­ley Garvey from Starfish Bloo at W Bali – Seminyak and Leong Chee Yeng from Jade restau­rant at The Fuller­ton Ho­tel Sin­ga­pore. We also meet up with the great culi­nary pro­fes­sion­als Be­hind The Scenes, from the F&B di­rec­tor of The Ritz-Carl­ton Jakarta, Pa­cific Place to his coun­ter­part at The La­guna, a Lux­ury Col­lec­tion Re­sort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali.

Of course an ap­petis­ing talk about gas­tron­omy wouldn’t be com­plete with­out some of the lat­est Ex­quis­ite res­tau­rants to choose from in the Gourmet pages. There’s al­ways room for desserts, and this time we bring you sweet treats from Sari Del­i­catessen at Sari Pan Pa­cific Jakarta.
