Chef Wicaya is a man of many culinary talents and actively develops the fabulous menus for The Ritz-Carlton, Bali’s six restaurant­s. A native of northern Bali, he has graced the kitchens of some of the island’s best venues, as well as a cruise line in America, and spends his time honing his talents and gathering knowledge and experience of various cuisines.

Winner in 2010 of one of the culinary world’s most prestigiou­s prizes, the Global Chefs Challenge, Chef Wicaya, who also holds numerous other awards, had to prepare a four-course dinner for 12 people to exacting standards. He has also been a chef mentor and guest judge on TV cooking shows.

At The Ritz-Carlton, Bali’s Bejana, he is thrilled to be able to showcase his signature dish, soto pesmol, which we absolutely adore.
