The Oberoi, Lom­bok is a gor­geous hide­away with acres of trop­i­cal gar­dens, shim­mer­ing ocean and golden sands along a pri­vate beach. The Oberoi, Lom­bok of­fers an in­ti­mate am­bi­ence, with thatched-roof vil­las and ter­raced pavil­ions dot­ting 24 acres of trop­i­cal gar­dens.

The vil­las and pavil­ions boast ex­pan­sive, shaded ter­races to re­lax in as you gaze out at beau­ti­ful gar­dens or beaches. All the vil­las and ter­race pavil­ions of­fer spa­cious bed­rooms and fea­ture lo­cal colours, tex­tures and arte­facts.

AC­COM­MO­DA­TION: The 20 thatchedroof vil­las and 30 thatched-roof pavil­ions are fur­nished in strik­ing colours and prim­i­tive art of the re­gion. All the vil­las and pavil­ions fea­ture spa­cious bed­rooms and stun­ning sunken mar­ble gar­den baths. Air-con­di­tioned bath­rooms are set in a pri­vate walled gar­den and ap­pointed with a dou­ble van­ity, sep­a­rate shower and walk-in closet. All guest ac­com­mo­da­tion is in thatchedroof build­ings of lo­cal ma­te­ri­als, at ground level and air-con­di­tioned. Gar­den walls of pink-tinged lo­cal lime­stone en­sure to­tal pri­vacy.

Ev­ery villa has a sep­a­rate bed­room, bath­room, court­yard with rock pond, raised din­ing pavil­ion and ter­race with ei­ther gar­den or ocean views. In­te­ri­ors through­out are clean-lined and har­mo­nious, with gen­er­ous use of teak, richly wo­ven car­pets and In­done­sian arte­facts for char­ac­ter. Most of the vil­las fea­ture a pri­vate swim­ming pool within their walled court­yards.

DIN­ING: You couldn’t ask for a more mag­i­cal set­ting for a unique din­ing ex­pe­ri­ence than The Lum­bung Restau­rant. This el­e­gant open-sided thatched pavil­ion is sit­u­ated in a land­scaped co­conut grove, com­plete with ex­tra­or­di­nary views of the ocean across shim­mer­ing re­flec­tion pools. The menu in­cludes a fine se­lec­tion of In­done­sian, Con­ti­nen­tal and Asian dishes. At

Sun­bird Café you can gaze across the re­flec­tion pools to the sun-soaked Gili Is­lands. It is per­fect for an al fresco break­fast or light à la carte lunch, with a choice of Asian or Con­ti­nen­tal dishes and seafood spe­cial­i­ties, in­clud­ing a chil­dren’s menu. You will be treated to themed In­done­sian buf­fet din­ners ac­com­pa­nied by the flick­er­ing light of a hun­dred can­dles, tra­di­tional mu­sic and spec­tac­u­lar Sasak dance per­for­mances at the open-air, beach-side Am­phithe­atre. Tokek Bar is a cool place to re­lax and spend a mel­low evening gaz­ing into a per­fect sun­set. It serves tasty bites, drinks and dreamy cock­tails be­side the pool deck, with gor­geous views of the three Gili Is­lands against a back­drop of ocean, for­est and the mighty Mount Rin­jani.
