Art Xchange Gallery

Harper's Bazaar Art (Indonesia) - - Exhibition Highlight - Budi Asih

Modern and contemporary art has found many homes in galleries across Indonesia, and one of the most prominent hosts is Art Xchange Gallery. The gallery was founded in Surabaya, East Java, in 2009, but then moved to Singapore to further expose local artists to international markets. Their roster of talents—which includes artists from India and Russia—has participated in globally renown art fairs such as Art

Stage Singapore, Asia Contemporary Art Show Hong Kong, Art Expo New York and Bazaar Art Jakarta. For this year’s art fair, Art Xchange will bring five new emerging artists such as Budi Asih (specializing in ballpoint pen and colored pencils on paper), Laksamana Ryo (a pop surrealism artist whose big-eyed character, Flo Alogia, is reminiscent of Margaret Keane’s paintings), Ledy Kadang (promising installation artist), Nahyu Rahma Fathriani (whose infatuation with animals is reflected on her watercolor paintings) and Rizal Kedthes (sculpture artist).
