Prak-sis Galerie

Harper's Bazaar Art (Indonesia) - - Exhibition Highlight - Mihyun Yu

Endeavouring to create something out of nothing—or in their words “even in times of economic crisis, life can blossom, a culture can grow, and most of all, hope need not die”—prak-sis Gallery further realize that desire by turning vacant spaces or abandoned building into art galleries. The Chicago-based gallery was founded by Mi-yeon Kwon in 2009 to emphasize on art career development and art education. Since then Prak-sis has worked with small businesses and neighbourhood support organizations for mutual art-related benefits, collaborating with established and up-and-coming artists, especially with their Geon-art Case International (GACI) Project that focuses on solo projects and represents artists’ artworks in a smaller scale for art lovers and collectors. Recognizing the power of technology, Prak-sis also aims to promote art in new media and will concentrate on online projects as well. Their list of talented artists includes Roman Serra, Darryl Schiff, Diane Ponder, Lynn Basa, Changhan Kim, Joshua Selman, and Jessica Higgins.
