Art­sphere was founded in 2006 by

Maya Su­jat­miko with a vi­sion to be a dis­tinct gallery that serves as a hub for artists, col­lec­tor, cu­ra­tor, art lovers and art as­so­ciates. Be­ing an art lover since her child­hood, Su­jat­miko was in­spired to es­tab­lish an art gallery that would con­trib­ute to the devel­op­ment of the mod­ern In­done­sian art scene. Art­sphere has fre­quently hosted an ex­hi­bi­tion and also has taken part in some im­por­tant events such as art fair. There­sia Agustina Sit­o­m­pul, Theo Frids Hutabarat, Erizal A.S., Ir­fan Hen­dria, and Natisa Jones are some of the artists who are high­lighted by the Jakarta–based gallery.

Erizal A.S was born in Padang Pan­jang and grad­u­ated from his study at ISI Yo­gyakarta. He be­came one of the fi­nal­ists of UOB Paint­ing Awards in 2013. Then, Ir­fan Hen­drian who was born in Ohio, started his study in graphic de­sign pro­gram be­fore he con­tin­ued study­ing pure art. His works has been dis­played in South Korea, New Zealand, and Malaysia. One of the works of Jab­bar Muhammad won the UOB Paint­ing of The Year Award In­done­sia 2015 and it was granted the fourth po­si­tion in Ban­dung Con­tem­po­rary Art Awards in the same year. While Natisa Jones, who grad­u­ated with BFA de­gree in Paint­ing from RMIT Melbourne, has been dis­play­ing her works in Bali since 2012. Theo Frids Hutabarat’s art­works have been ex­hib­ited in BAJ since 2010, and he has been par­tic­i­pat­ing in more than 20 joint ex­hi­bi­tions. Mean­while, There­sia Agustina Sit­o­m­pul has held her eighth-times-soloex­hi­bi­tions in Sin­ga­pore, Kuala Lumpur, Yo­gyakarta, Jakarta, and Ban­dung.
