For artist who have lived in Bali for 19 years, inspirations don’t come without effort. “Inspirations come when you work, and usually the more you focus on work, the more ideas and inspirations appear,” said Richard Winkler explaining his art process. The Swedish artist is well-known as a painter and also a sculptor who is identical to creating human figures full of curves with imperfect yet harmonious figures. For Richard, his art is a window that can take his audience to ‘escape’ from the hustle-bustle and problems of life to a world of imagination full of colors and figures. The round-shaped figure found in his paintings and sculptures are realizations of Richard’s love to the connection of lines that are mutually coherent, pleasant to the eyes.
