Often called the “Australian latte”, flat white shares similar qualities with its better known counterparts like latte or cappuccino – basically a combination of espresso and milk. However, don’t let a coffee elitist catch you saying they’re all the same. Although originally smaller than its aforementioned counterparts, flat white has a higher proportion of coffee to milk – and the milk is more velvety than usual, which allows the espresso to dominate the flavour.
