Ko­mu­ni­tas Sal­i­hara’s Street Photography Class 8 April – 6 May 2017

Street photography is known as one of the most pop­u­lar forms of art in the world. Jakarta’s iconic cul­tural space Ko­mu­ni­tas Sal­i­hara is invit­ing photography en­thu­si­asts to learn ev­ery­thing that it takes to cap­ture a pic­ture with the right tech­nique. The class will later take stu­dents to prac­tice street photography in in­ter­est­ing ar­eas across the city. Stu­dents are re­quired to bring their own cam­eras and will re­ceive learn­ing ma­te­ri­als dur­ing the class and a cer­tifi­cate af­ter­wards. The class will be taught by Erik Prasetya, one of Asia’s most renowned pho­tog­ra­phers. In 2012, Prasetya was listed as one of 20 Most Inf lu­en­tial Asian Pho­tog­ra­phers by In­vis­i­ble Pho­tog­ra­pher Asia. The class costs for Rp. 2,000,000. Jakarta In­ter­na­tional Jew­elry Fair 2017 20–23 April 2017

The in­ter­na­tional jew­elry fair will bring to­gether a num­ber of play­ers in the jew­elry mar­ket, rang­ing from re­tail­ers, dis­trib­u­tors and whole­salers, man­u­fac­tur­ers, busi­ness own­ers and de­sign­ers. This will be the chance for ev­ery­one in the jew­elry in­dus­try to share and learn from one an­other, while also of­fer­ing vis­i­tors stun­ning col­lec­tions in di­a­mond, gold, sil­ver, pearl and other stones. Mad about Com­edy’s 16th An­niver­sary 27 April 2017

Mad about Com­edy is hav­ing its 16th an­niver­sary this April and is invit­ing in­ter­na­tion­ally-ac­claimed co­me­di­ans to cel­e­brate the day. The club’s jour­ney started in 2001 when Jack Russel from the UK and Ja­son Byrne from Ire­land es­tab­lished a com­mu­nity that gath­ered ex­pats across the ar­chi­pel­ago. For this oc­ca­sion, the club is invit­ing Nick Cop­pin ( UK) and Ro Camp­bell ( Scot­land / Aus­tralia). Guests will also be in­vited to join the after party. Video- Dance Work­shop 17 May 2017

The Ital­ian Cul­ture In­sti­tute will be hold­ing a video-dance work­shop in May, or­ga­nized by di­rec­tor and chore­og­ra­pher Mat­teo Marziano Graziano. Graziano is known for his works in film, video, as well as the stage. Some of his best works can be seen in his con­tem­po­rary dance pro­duc­tions, opera and mu­sic theatre. Aside from that, he has also been in­volved in ex­per­i­men­tal pro­jects that in­clude par­tic­i­pa­tory for­mats, ar­chi­tec­tural and site­spe­cific in­ter­ven­tions.
