Blue fruit as well as rose-like per­fume. Sub­tle oak. Tan­nins are fine and even. A long fin­ish. Best pinot to date. Drink now or hold for six years or more 96 points .

Hen­schke Pinot Noir Ade­laide Hills Lenswood Giles 2015 Nose of red cherry, blue fruit and hints of savoury brown spices. Tightly packed and dis­ci­plined palate with a crunchy core of strawberry, rasp­berry and red cherry. Fine tan­nins with pas­try-like tex­ture and a res­o­lute pop of acid­ity make for a con­vinc­ing pinot. Will evolve bril­liantly for six years or more 96 points .

Gareth Bel­ton Pinot Noir Ade­laide Hills For­est Range 2015 Blue fruit such as plum and blueberry, a lit­tle stony, brightly spicy, sappy, earthy and fresh. Ter­rific depth, pol­ished tan­nins. Dark berry, choco­laty Gu­atemalan cof­fee and ripe plum flavours. A stun­ning ex­pres­sion of sin­gle-site pinot. Drink now or hold for six years or more. 96 points .

SC Pan­nell Syrah Ade­laide Hills 2014 A very handy fol­low-up to the ex­cel­lent 2013. More com­pact, com­posed and mus­cu­lar. It sac­ri­fices noth­ing in terms of im­me­di­ate ap­peal and pol­ish. Black­berry and black cherry with plenty of spice, a lit­tle pep­pery edge and a thread of graphite-like stony al­lure. Fine, well-de­fined tan­nins. Best from 2018. 95 points .

Adelina Neb­bi­olo Ade­laide Hills 2013 In­tense cherry, maraschino and earthy nu­ances on this neb­bi­olo, which had ex­tended mac­er­a­tion. Some fresh leath­ery aro­mas, orange zest, dried roses and gen­tle meaty notes. Well ex­e­cuted and de­li­cious. Drink now or hold for the medium term. 95 points .
