he bmw group is cel­e­brat­ing its 100th an­niver­sary in 2016 with a line-up of cen­te­nary events fo­cus­ing on “The Next 100 Years”. With an out­look fixed firmly on the fu­ture, the group has pi­o­neer­ing con­cept cars on the agenda, to­gether with a whole se­ries of events.

As part of the global cel­e­bra­tion, BMW re­cently un­veiled the Vi­sion Next 100: a ve­hi­cle to­tally un­like any­thing we have seen on the road so far. With a sleek coupé de­sign, this con­cept car has an au­ton­o­mous driv­ing mode and a shape-shift­ing in­te­rior. In fact, the car’s seats can be shifted to let pas­sen­gers sit face to face, while the steer­ing wheel and cen­tre con­sole re­tract and the head­rests turn side­ways.

This ve­hi­cle com­bines coupé-type sporti­ness with the dy­namic el­e­gance of a sedan, but rather than be­ing an anony­mous trans­port ma­chine, it is a highly cus­tomis­able ve­hi­cle that is per­fectly tai­lored to suit the driver’s chang­ing needs.
