Anggun Cipta Sasmi
Anggun Cipta Sasmi or popularly known as Anggun is the first Indonesian singer to go international. Her albums have been certified Gold and Platinum in several European countries. Her career in music began in 1986. Anggun, who was born in Jakarta on 29 April 1974 and currently has French citizenship, has won the prestigious Chevalier des Arts et Lettres from the French government and World’s Best Selling Indonesian Artist from World Music Awards. Anggun has twice been appointed as the goodwill ambassador by UN for Microcredit program (2005) and by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 2009.
