Born in Watam­pone, South Su­lawesi on 15 May 1942, Muham­mad Jusuf Kalla is Vice Pres­i­dent of Re­pub­lic of In­done­sia. He was sworn in as vice pres­i­dent on 20 Oc­to­ber 2014 to ac­com­pany Joko Wi­dodo in lead­ing the na­tion. Jusuf Kalla is known as a very suc­cess­ful busi­ness­man found­ing the multi-cor­po­ra­tion Kalla Group. Jusuf Kalla chaired Golkar Party in 2004, aside from hav­ing ex­pan­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in the gov­ern­ment, in­clud­ing work­ing as Min­is­ter of In­dus­try and Trade and Min­is­ter for Peo­ple’s Wel­fare. He is also ac­tive in so­cial and hu­man­i­tar­ian ac­tiv­i­ties; he is the chair­man of In­done­sian Red Cross (PMI) in 2014-2019 pe­riod.
