Bolder and better mungkin kata-kata yang tepat menggambarkan acara pameran Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) tahun ini. Diselenggarakan untuk ketiga kalinya, IFEX 2016 mengangkat tema besar yaitu, ‘Esensi dari Inovasi yang Tak Terbatas’. Tema yang menyesuaikan dengan isu hangat dalam dunia furnitur ini, mengutamakan pentingnya inovasi dan kreativitas tak terbatas yang menciptakan produk sentuhan lokal dengan tetap sesuai tren pasar furnitur lokal maupun internasional.

Sebagai pameran furnitur berbasis business-to-business (B2B) terbesar di Asia Tenggara, IFEX berlangsung sukses dari tanggal 11 hingga 14 Maret 2016 lalu. Partisipasi dari 429 peserta dengan 28 pesertanya berasal dari sembilan negara mengisi semua area hall JIEXPO, Jakarta seluas 60.000 meter persegi, lebih luas dari tahun sebelumnya. Didukung penuh oleh empat sektor pemerintah yaitu, Kementerian Industri, Kementerian Perdagangan, Kementerian UKM, dan Kementerian Lingkungan dan Perhutanan, IFEX menjadi tempat pertemuan antara pihak pengusaha, buyer, dan pemerintah pusat.

Optimis akan produk furnitur lokal dengan potensi besar ke pasar ekspor dunia, Asosiasi Mebel dan Kerajinan Rotan Indonesia (AMKRI) sebagai penyelenggara menganggap bahwa IFEX memiliki keunggulan dibandingkan dengan pameran desain serupa di Asia Tenggara. “Produk furnitur yang ditampilkan mencerminkan unsur kerajinan tangan lokal khas Indonesia dengan inovasi desain dan teknologi mutakhir. Ini menjadi daya tarik penikmat desain dunia, terutama dari Eropa dan Amerika.” jelas Rudi Halim, pemimpin AMKRI.

Ada yang menarik pada IFEX tahun ini, para produk yang menampilkan desain dan kualitas terbaik dikurasi dalam satu tempat yaitu, ‘Hall of Excelence’ di Hall C, JIEXPO. Pesertanya merupakan perusahaan besar dan menengah yang memiliki produk berkualitas, inovatif, dan desain terbaru.

Melalui ragam aktivitas seperti promosi dan pameran seperti IFEX ini, furnitur-furnitur lokal memiliki peluang besar untuk melebarkan sayap bisnisnya serta meningkatkan brand awareness kepada penikmat desain di seluruh dunia.

Daya tarik pameran furnitur lokal yang bertaraf internasional menjadikan IFEX 2016 sebagai ajang yang paling dinanti di Asia.

Bolder and better may be the right words to describe Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) exhibition this year. Held for the third time, IFEX 2016 brought upon the main theme, “The Essence of Infinite Innovation.” The theme ties in with the spirited topic in the world of furniture today—prioritizing the importance of unlimited innovation and creativity to create local products that are still in line with both local and global trends.

As the largest furniture exhibition based on business- tobusiness (B2B) in South East Asia, IFEX successfully took place on March 11 until March 14, 2016. Within 429 participants, 28 came from nine countries, occupying a hall of 60,000 squared metres at JIEXPO, Jakarta. The exhibition was fully supported by four government offices, which were the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Cooperatives Small and Medium Enterprises, and the Ministry of Forestry. IFEX became the meeting point between employers, buyers and the central government.

Optimistic with the great potential local furnitures have to export to the international market, Asosiasi Mebel dan Kerajinan Rotan Indonesia (AMKRI), as the host of the event, believes that IFEX has an advantage over other similar exhibitions in South East Asia. “The products displayed represent unique Indonesian handicrafts with inovative designs and cutting-edge technologies. This is the appeal for international enthusiasts, especially those from Europe and America,” explained Rudi Halim, the head of AMKRI.

Furthermore, the exemplary designed products with the highest quality exhibited at IFEX this year were curated in one place, which was the ‘Hall of Excelence’ in Hall C of JIEXPO. Both large and secondary enterprises displayed products of high quality and most innovative designs.

Through various activities such as promotions and exhibitions like IFEX, local furniture companies have the opportunity to expand their businesses as well as to raise their brand awareness toward admirers around the world.
