Kriya Spa is a wellness sanctuary offering discerning travellers an authentic Balinese healing experience. The word Kriya means ‘ritual’ in Sanskrit. This unique spa celebrates authentic Balinese healing forms with treatments based on ‘wellness rituals’ to promote positive health and anti-ageing, through the use of natural herbs, roots and essences.Capturing the essential nature of a spa, Kriya specialises in pampering the mind and body with a menu of exceptional treatments that combine the best of ancient and modern techniques. A team of experienced spa therapists and aestheticians create programmes tailored specifically to one’s lifestyle – ensuring you are taken on a personal journey of serenity, restoration and reflection. In desperate need of relaxation, we chose the Aanand Kriya treatment, a two-and-ahalf-hour spa ritual of pure relaxation to achieve a harmonious balance between the body, mind and soul with traditional wellness concepts from the island of the gods. Shortly after making the choice, our assigned therapists escorted us to the spa villa.

Inspired by the magnificent architecture of an ancient Balinese water palace, the spa villa is designed with exceptional attention to detail and offers twin indoor treatment facilities, private outdoor wet treatment area, a traditional relaxation

bale (Balinese-style pavilion), customdesigned soaking tub and plunge pool, all set in a tranquil courtyard with a focus on life-giving water. The villa is designed so that guests need not leave the inner sanctuary of their private lifestyle suite, each of which is set up to deliver all the services offered at the spa. The contemporary spa villa -- with a hint of Balinese traditional style -creates a harmonious union between the spatial design, flow and overall ambience. Understated elegance each has fine textures, materials and artefacts representing herbs and natural elements, together with the infinite attention given to mood-enhancing lighting, natural colours, scents, relaxing sounds and temperature. All in all, it provides an exotic sanctuary for a truly indulgent ‘total-sensory’ experience. Our Aanand Kriya spa ritual started with a Royal Java Lulur, which includes turmeric and sandalwood, exfoliation and the omnipresent scent of delicate, seasonal blossoms. This was followed by crown ‘Cakra’ scalp therapy, my scalp has never felt better having a well-trained therapist massaging it. My favourite part of the treatment was the Java Honey Cucumber facials, I just love how Kriya spa uses natural ingredients for the facials, which was perfect for my sensitive skin. The treatment ended with a truly relaxing Milk and Bali herb soak. It is one of the most relaxing baths we have ever had. Our whole body was incredibly relaxed and our mind was somewhere in bliss land. The treatment not only pampered my body but also my mind. Enjoying a treatment at Kriya Spa is the ultimate escape from life’s hectic and mundane realities of preparing a wedding. We love everything about Kriya Spa, it gives us time relax and pamper our mind, body and soul. We felt so relaxed and refreshed after the spa treatment, it is a sanctuary for true indulgence.
