Filippo Sci­as­cia


On 20 Novem­ber 2014, Cip­tadana opened the Filippo Sci­as­cia ex­hi­bi­tion which a cock­tail party. Filippo Sci­as­cia is an artist fas­ci­nated by the way so­ci­ety ab­sorbs and un­der­stands the pro­duc­tion and con­sump­tion of images as a form of re­al­ity, and he ex­plores this fas­ci­na­tion through paint­ing, photography, film and video tech­nolo­gies. Filippo made Bali his home in 1998 and he works and lives on the is­land with his In­done­sian wife, Esti, and their son, Alighiero. He con­tin­ues to ex­hibit in Italy, in a num­ber of im­por­tant mu­se­ums and gal­leries, and main­tains a work stu­dio there. Filippo’s con­cepts and sub­jects are nei­ther Ital­ian nor In­done­sian; they are uni­ver­sal, based on deep com­mon knowl­edge that has been around for thou­sands of years.
