SOUTH INDIANS CELEBRATE RICH MUSIC DIVERSITY

A trio of South Indian associations in Indonesia recently got together to host a musical program that celebrated the rich cultural diversity of India.
The event, named the Grand Gala South Indian Musical Program, was held on Nov. 12 at Bunda Mulia University’s TUGA auditorium in North Jakarta.
This event was jointly organized by Indonesia Tamil Sangam, Indonesia Telugu Association and Suvarna Kannada Sangha.
It was a crowded occasion, with 750 guests listening to dance numbers and songs sung in four South Indian languages. Aside from the music, the event served as the launch of the latest edition of the Annual
Tamil Magazine, a publication that serves to showcase the talents of Tamil members in Indonesia. The magazine was released by Indian Embassy first secretary Anand Prakash. India Club president Rakesh Jain was also present at the event.
