In­done­sian Can­cer Foun­da­tion raises pub­lic aware­ness about can­cer through con­cert

In an ef­fort to boost pub­lic aware­ness and con­cern about the deadly dis­ease can­cer, the In­done­sian Can­cer Foun­da­tion (Yayasan Kanker In­done­sia) has just or­ga­nized a con­cert called Hyper­love Folk­song Fiesta at Ta­man Is­mail Marzuki’s Graha Bhakti Bu­daya venue in Jakarta.

The con­cert, which was held on Dec. 19, was or­ga­nized with the help of the Kidung Bangsaku foun­da­tion, Bank Cen­tral Asia (BCA) and PT In­do­marco Pris­matama.

Groups who per­formed dur­ing the con­cert, in­clud­ing the Maria Pratiwi Harp En­sem­ble, St. James Orches­tra, Raphael Choir, Chris­tian and An­gels Cham­ber orches­tra, Sion a capella group, Sy­ofyani Dance and Mu­sic En­sem­ble as well as a troupe of can­cer sur­vivors, belted out tra­di­tional In­done­sian folk songs like Sio Mama and Keron­cong Ke­may­oran. The per­for­mance from the can­cer sur­vivors in par­tic­u­lar show­cased their strength and re­silience in sur­viv­ing the ill­ness.
