RI, In­dia em­i­nent per­sons group meets in Jakarta

In­done­sia and In­dia are very old friends, neigh­bors and strate­gic part­ners. The two coun­tries to­gether es­tab­lished the In­dia In­done­sia Em­i­nent Per­sons Group (II-EPG) to fos­ter re­la­tions.

“The In­dia In­done­sia Em­i­nent Per­sons Group was es­tab­lished to re­view In­dia- In­done­sia Re­la­tions and ex­plore ways to widen and deepen ex­ist­ing co­op­er­a­tion to­ward a sus­tain­able long-term strate­gic part­ner­ship be­tween In­dia and In­done­sia,” Indian Em­bassy in Jakarta said in a press re­lease

The II-EPG hosted a meet­ing re­cently co-chaired by for­mer In­done­sian deputy for­eign min­is­ter Dino Patti Djalal and Indian Am­bas­sador Biren Nanda in Jakarta. Pre­vi­ously, this group met in Jakarta in April and in New Delhi in Oc­to­ber.

Both Dino and Nanda submitted the group’s re­port to In­done­sian For­eign Min­is­ter Retno LP Mar­sudi and Indian Min­is­ter of State for Ex­ter­nal Af­fairs MJ Ak­bar on Dec. 12 in New Delhi dur­ing Pres­i­dent Joko “Jokowi” Wi­dodo’s visit to In­dia.
