RI, India eminent persons group meets in Jakarta
Indonesia and India are very old friends, neighbors and strategic partners. The two countries together established the India Indonesia Eminent Persons Group (II-EPG) to foster relations.
“The India Indonesia Eminent Persons Group was established to review India- Indonesia Relations and explore ways to widen and deepen existing cooperation toward a sustainable long-term strategic partnership between India and Indonesia,” Indian Embassy in Jakarta said in a press release
The II-EPG hosted a meeting recently co-chaired by former Indonesian deputy foreign minister Dino Patti Djalal and Indian Ambassador Biren Nanda in Jakarta. Previously, this group met in Jakarta in April and in New Delhi in October.
Both Dino and Nanda submitted the group’s report to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi and Indian Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar on Dec. 12 in New Delhi during President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s visit to India.
