Bali, Business and Beaches

Welcome to the island of the Gods, welcome to the emerald on the equator.

The Jakarta Post - Magazine - - Message From The Jakarta Post - Respectfully, Meidyatama Suryodiningrat Editor-in-Chief

It is our pleasure to welcome you to an island which is not only special for Indonesians, but also, as many of you firsttime visitors to Bali will soon realize, is also unique throughout the world.

Nineteen years ago Indonesia hosted the second APEC Summit in Bogor. A momentous summit which set the course of the world for the next two decades.

This week Indonesia again hosts an APEC meeting in a time of great global change and uncertainty.

We have no doubt that Indonesia will do well in hosting the summit itself, and look forward to the substantive outcomes that will emerge. The APEC meetings have now evolved not only as a meeting of leaders and officials, but even more so as a meeting of minds and determination for progress and inclusive growth throughout the region.

Hence we are proud to bring you this publication as a primer for introducing our beautiful archipelago and acquainting you with the best that the island has to offer. A reference for APEC delegates, tourists and officials to appreciate more about APEC, Bali and Indonesia.

In closing, we would like to remind you to always turn to The Jakarta Post as your first reference for coverage and events during this historic APEC week.
