From the Editor

The Jakarta Post - Magazine - - Education -

Education is a never-ending process that is crucial for all. It plays a role in shaping our future generations and achieving the dreams and goals that people set for themselves.

Even though technology is not the only determining factor to one’s academic success, there is no denying that digital technology is invading the school landscape, of which educators, teachers and parents should be aware.

This special edition on education carries the theme “Education in the Digital Era” in response to today’s ever more technology-centric world.

In an article titled Cyber schoolrooms: Changing face of school today, you will find that in today’s cyber schoolrooms, decisions on how to incorporate high-tech devices into educational programs depend very much on multi-faceted aspects.

When it comes to overseas studies, there are so many destinations to choose from, but studying abroad is often a family decision. You will find this in an article on overseas education in the digital era.

Besides articles by independent education experts, you will also find interesting pieces on schools’ concepts, programs and curricula shared by schools, which may help parents choose the right school for their children. There is, for example, a principle-centered school that has developed a “Leader In Me” program, which highlights the seven character traits.

Not to be missed is, surely, a piece on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in an early childhood setting.

Hopefully, you will find this tabloid on education useful.
