WHAT’S IN YOUR BAG
A comic artist’s must-haves
Notebook As a comic artist I nd inspiration from what I or other people normally encounter every day. Because ideas can come at any time, it’s good to always have a notebook ready with me.That way, any time a new idea comes to my head, I’ll quickly write it down. Pencil case With all its contents, my pencil case is just as important as my notebook! If I ever happen to forget my notebook, which I rarely do, I can use a pencil to jot down my ideas on a napkin or any other paper available. Headset I love music and I listen to all musical genres, especially metal. Because of that, I’m inseparable from my SONY headphones. Mobile phone I make it a point to keep some of my drawing portfolio on my smartphone. Say if I happen to meet people who want to take a look at my work, it’s easiest to just take out my phone and show them what I’ve got there. I can also do work on my phone, using a digital sketchbook app called Samsung Sketch. Lipsticks Back in 2014 I was named the ambassador for Popcon Asia, an international pop culture convention, for which I had to dress up and maintain a fresh look during public appearances. It was then that I began carrying lipsticks with me (all four!), all in nude and peach shades. My personal favorite is the MAT7 Nude Matte by Maybelline. Hairbrush and hair clip They’re a lifesaver! My hair can get pretty crazy, so it’s absolutely necessary for me to keep both items in my bag. Wallet This purse is actually a handme-down from my mom. I’m a sucker for anything Victoria’s Secret, so that’s what matters most, not the pattern or style. It’s where I keep my KTP (identity card), student ID and cash. I like to splurge on books.
