The Jakarta Biennale is a biennial international arts exhibition that dates all the way back to 1974. The latest iteration of this event sees its organizers collaborating with Melati Suryodarmo, who was appointed as artistic director, and four curators selected through an open call.
Themed “Jiwa”, or “Soul”, the event features the works of artists both from home and around the world, including Cameroon, the Czech Republic, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Thailand and the UK.
The event will be held through Dec. 10 at held four locations: the Gudang Sarinah Ekosistem, the Jakarta History Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics, and Institut Français d’Indonésie.
