Readers gather to taste the winning wines from our Cellars in the Sky Awards
Readers gathered at London’s Trinity House recently to try the winning wines from our Cellars in the Sky Awards
Abeautiful spring evening saw more than 80 readers join us for a complimentary wine-tasting class with wine expert Charles Metcalfe. The event, held at historic Trinity House close to Tower Hill in the City of London, was kindly sponsored by Regal Airport Hotel Hong Kong (regalhotel.com), whose vice-president of development and area general manager, John Girard, provided the welcome to the assembled guests.
A drinks reception in the Court room allowed an appreciation of the views across to the Tower of London. Guests then made their way through to the Library for the tasting of nine wines – all winners at our Cellars in the Sky 2016 airline wine awards – accompanied by delicious food including freshly shucked oysters, charcuterie and cheese boards.
There was also a prize draw, with one lucky reader taking home three Gold Medal bottles served in first class, and another winning three business class Gold Medal wines. Our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us, and to the airlines that supplied bottles of their award-winning wines.
