The National Gallery specialises in Western European painting from the 13th to 19th centuries, by the likes of Da Vinci, Vermeer, Constable, Monet and Van Gogh. Events can be held in both the picture galleries (such as the red-painted Central Hall, 200 standing), where delegates can eat canapés and drink champagne in full view of the prestigious works, or in the dedicated conference rooms of the Sainsbury Wing.
Overall, the gallery has 16 function spaces giving companies the option to choose from 12 galleries, three conference rooms and one auditorium seating up to 328 people. The Barry Rooms, which can seat 150 for a banquet under an impressive domed ceiling, are decorated with marble pillars and works by British artists. Summer receptions of 100 people can be held on the Portico Terrace facing Nelson’s Column. Alternatively, you could have an early-morning power breakfast of up to 40 guests on the indoor Mosaic Terrace.
