The Euskaltel Group has reached an agreement to use 11,000 Telxius-owned Spanish telecommunication sites in Euskadi and Galicia.

Euskaltel will initially use 100 Telxius’s towers and then significantly increase the potential sites with which it will be able to expand the scope of its 4G mobile network. This will allow it to use these facilities for mobile telephony, wireless access solutions in rural areas and access solutions for businesses.

“In Telxius we are happy to have reached an agreement with Euskaltel, which is, without a doubt, a reference in the telecommunications sector in the north of Spain,” said Alberto Horcajo, CEO of Telxius.

“The agreement is an important step in the consolidation, development, and optimisation of our service capabilities in the tower business. We hope to find new opportunities that will enable us to strengthen our leadership further as an infrastructure company.”
