BULGARIA SIGNS AGREEMENT TO JOIN EURASIA INFORMATION HIGHWAY FIBRE LINK PROJECT
Bulgarian officials have signed a preliminary agreement to join Azerbaijan’s largest telecoms project, the Trans-eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) fibre backbone project, a major transit link from Frankfurt to Hong Kong.
Bulgaria is set to join consortium partners – consisting of Azerbaijan (Azintelecom), China (China Telecom), Kazakhstan (Kaztranscom), Russia (Rostelecom) and Turkey (Türk Telecom) – in constructing TASIM.
It will also research options for using Bulgarian networks for the project.
The agreement was signed at the Azerbaijan-bulgaria inter-governmental commission on trade and economic cooperation held in Baku.
