BUL­GARIA SIGNS AGREE­MENT TO JOIN EURASIA IN­FOR­MA­TION HIGH­WAY FI­BRE LINK PRO­JECT

Bul­gar­ian of­fi­cials have signed a pre­lim­i­nary agree­ment to join Azer­bai­jan’s largest tele­coms pro­ject, the Trans-eurasian In­for­ma­tion Su­per High­way (TASIM) fi­bre back­bone pro­ject, a ma­jor tran­sit link from Frank­furt to Hong Kong.

Bul­garia is set to join con­sor­tium part­ners – con­sist­ing of Azer­bai­jan (Az­in­t­ele­com), China (China Telecom), Kaza­khstan (Kaz­transcom), Rus­sia (Rost­ele­com) and Turkey (Türk Telecom) – in con­struct­ing TASIM.

It will also re­search op­tions for us­ing Bul­gar­ian net­works for the pro­ject.

The agree­ment was signed at the Azer­bai­jan-bul­garia in­ter-gov­ern­men­tal com­mis­sion on trade and eco­nomic co­op­er­a­tion held in Baku.
