Af­ter team­ing up with Ericsson, C&W Com­mu­ni­ca­tions has fin­ished a net­work ex­pan­sion in the Caribbean and Panama, ad­dress­ing in­creas­ing data traf­fic de­mands by boost­ing speeds and net­work per­for­mance.

C&W, part of Lib­erty Global, an­nounced in Au­gust that it had signed agree­ments with Ericsson and Cisco to in­stall three IP Caribbean net­works that will be a back­bone for IPTV ser­vices, fixed op­er­a­tions and busi­ness-to-busi­ness ser­vices.

The ex­pan­sion in­cludes hard­ware, soft­ware, li­cens­ing and ser­vices for C&W brands Flow (Caribbean), BTC (Ba­hamas) and CWP (Panama). All C&W mar­kets in the re­gion will have ac­cess to soft­ware up­grades and the op­por­tu­nity to mi­grate to the Ericsson Soft­ware Model.

Carlo Al­loni, ex­ec­u­tive vice pres­i­dent and CTIO of C&W Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, added: “We are happy to once again part­ner with Ericsson in this ex­pan­sion pro­ject.”
