In­dus­try an­a­lysts en­thu­si­as­ti­cally pre­dicted the com­plete demise of TDM years ago, the move to Eth­er­net has taken longer than many an­tic­i­pated. Rev­enue from TDM ser­vices is still far greater than that of Eth­er­net ser­vices, and un­til re­cently a con­sid­er­able per­cent­age of new or­ders were for TDM ser­vices. In the data col­lected for this study we saw cir­cuit makeup jump­ing from about 70% Eth­er­net in March 2015, to al­most 90% in Fe­bru­ary of 2016. It has taken longer than an­tic­i­pated, but TDM is truly be­ing phased out. Over­all, 81% of the or­ders were Eth­er­net based, and ig­nor­ing a few out­liers the per­cent­age fell be­tween 77% and 92% for all the coun­tries in the study.
