Petter-børre Furberg, Grameenphone
Bangladeshi mobile operator Grameenphone has appointed Petter-børre Furberg as interim CEO as it looks for a replacement for Rajiv Sethi.
Sethi left the company after nearly two years to “pursue new opportunities”, leaving the top job free.
Furberg was most recently SVP of digital business at Grameenphone’s parent-company, Telenor Group, whom he joined in 1998. He has held numerous roles within the group, including head of financial services at Telenor Group, CMO and CFO of dtac and Telenor Myanmar’s CEO.
The Grameenphone board of directors said it will now initiate a process to identify a permanent replacement for the position of CEO. Furberg will join Telenor’s executive management team in the interim.
