MAN­DARIN ORI­EN­TAL HAS AN­NOUNCED it will man­age a new prop­erty, set amongst the tra­di­tional court­yard houses and nar­row al­ley­ways that char­ac­terise old Bei­jing. Lo­cated in the Qian­men East Hu­tong Quar­ter – cur­rently in the midst of preser­va­tion and re­gen­er­a­tion works - the 2018 launch will of­fer guests the chance to step back in time in the most lux­u­ri­ous and im­mer­sive way, with the new Man­darin Ori­en­tal Qian­men prop­erty ac­tu­ally dis­persed through­out the Quar­ter, cheek-by-jowl with pri­vately owned tra­di­tional res­i­dences, restau­rants, re­tail­ers and cul­tural hotspots. Large, land­scaped court­yard suites will in­vite guests to ex­pe­ri­ence of this tra­di­tional way of life; while din­ing op­tions will in­clude a tra­di­tional tea lounge and Man­darin cake shop, a Chi­nese restau­rant and all-day din­ing with a roof ter­race. A full spa of­fer­ing and multi-pur­pose func­tion rooms will round out what’s set to truly be one to watch next year.
