MANDARIN ORIENTAL HAS ANNOUNCED it will manage a new property, set amongst the traditional courtyard houses and narrow alleyways that characterise old Beijing. Located in the Qianmen East Hutong Quarter – currently in the midst of preservation and regeneration works - the 2018 launch will offer guests the chance to step back in time in the most luxurious and immersive way, with the new Mandarin Oriental Qianmen property actually dispersed throughout the Quarter, cheek-by-jowl with privately owned traditional residences, restaurants, retailers and cultural hotspots. Large, landscaped courtyard suites will invite guests to experience of this traditional way of life; while dining options will include a traditional tea lounge and Mandarin cake shop, a Chinese restaurant and all-day dining with a roof terrace. A full spa offering and multi-purpose function rooms will round out what’s set to truly be one to watch next year.
