A DIAMOND’S DESTINY

The destiny of an ultra-rare 342-carat diamond dubbed “Queen of the Kalahari” has been unveiled by Chopard, which used the gemstone discovered in Botswana to create six exclusive pieces for The Garden of Kalahari collection. Among the 23 diamonds cultivated from the “Queen”, five weigh more than 20 carats. The showpiece of the collection is undoubtedly this 18-carat white “fairmined” gold necklace, a showstopper laden with, among others, three exceptional gems: a 50-carat brilliant-cut, a 26-carat heart-shaped and a 25-carat pearshaped diamond. THE IVY LEAGUE

Ever since Frédéric Boucheron saw wild ivy growing beneath the arcades of the Palais Royal where he opened his first boutique in 1858, ivy has been featured in the Maison’s collections. One of the masterful highlights in the latest Lierre de Paris (Paris Ivy) collection is “Point d’interrogation” (question mark), a high-jewellery necklace inspired by a creation dating from 1881, with nine leaves in white gold set with pavé diamonds. TOYZ FOR GROWN-UP BOYS

The sartorial gent knows it’s all about the details, and the details are there in Ermenegildo Zegna’s new exclusive line of men’s accessories, travel, entertainment and home products, which are a feat of textile excellence, luxuriously crafted from the brand’s signature Pelle Tessuta – an innovative woven leather fabric made from extremely thin strips of micro nappa leather in place of fabric yarns. Among the Zegna’s Toyz collection, available mid-Autumn, are dominos and music accessories such as headphones, earphones and speakers, created in collaboration with Master & Dynamic. www.zegna.com
