SOTHEBY’S DUBAI PRESENTS IN­AU­GU­RAL AUC­TION

THE IN­TER­NA­TIONAL POW­ER­HOUSE AUC­TION-HOUSE WILL STAGE ITS FIRST DUBAI AUC­TION, build­ing on its suc­cess since open­ing a gallery and of­fice in the city ear­lier this year. The di­verse auc­tion will of­fer up highly cov­etable works from the likes of the late vi­sion­ary ar­chi­tect Zaha Ha­did; a rare col­lec­tion of let­ters from Khalil Gi­bran (au­thor of mas­ter­piece, The Prophet) to his friend and men­tor Madame Marie Azeez El-Khoury; and paint­ings from Ali Banisadr and Jean De­buf­fet. The auc­tion is set to re­veal and cel­e­brate new per­spec­tives on art both from and in­spired by the Middle East, tran­scend­ing both cul­tural and ge­o­graph­i­cal bound­aries. Her High­ness Sheikha Manal bint Mo­hammed bin Rashid Al Mak­toum will serve as pa­tron of the dy­namic cross-cat­e­gory sale, to be held Novem­ber 13.
