Mobile antenna controller for oil & gas satcoms

OffComm News - - THE QUARTERLY -

Together, IP Access International ( IPA), a global commercial satellite service provider of voice, video and data network solutions, and Winegard Co, a US based manufacturer of rugged and reliable VSAT satellite communications systems, just told us of a new, customised satellite antenna controller. It is for use with the IPA Isis Network, which offers multiple satellite options and independent earth stations on both US coasts. This latest offering, from Winegard, allows access to the Isis network ~ guaranteeing communications when there is a line- of- sight obstruction and/ or regional disruption. According to a company statement, no other solution offers more comprehensive network redundancy. This could be beneficial for the oil and gas industry where most satellites are deployed in rugged and remote territories.
