Con­nec­tiv­ity con­tract across re­new­able en­ergy plants, South Africa

An Italy- based re­new­able en­ergy com­pany, TerniEn­er­gia has signed a multi- year con­tract with sat­coms ser­vice provider, Avanti Com­mu­ni­ca­tions. The deal in­cludes op­er­a­tional sup­port and re­mote re­port­ing ca­pa­bil­i­ties. The satel­lite ser­vice is to be pro­vided via VPN ( vir­tual pri­vate net­work) en­sur­ing that IP traf­fic re­mains se­cure and en­crypted from end to end. Part of Italeaf Group, TerniEn­er­gia is the first Ital­ian smart en­ergy com­pany op­er­at­ing in re­new­able en­ergy and en­ergy ef­fi­ciency. The com­pany will use Avanti’s Ka- band satel­lite tech­nol­ogy to pro­vide high- speed broad­band con­nec­tiv­ity to fa­cil­i­tate the data ex­change be­tween its pho­to­voltaic re­new­able en­ergy plants lo­cated in Paleisheuwel and Tom Burke in South Africa, which are un­der con­struc­tion for a pri­mary util­ity.
