Plaza Watch International - - The 50 Most Influential -

Continuing to explore materials to make its watches scratchproof, it was in this year that Rado accelerated the pace of the industry’s high-tech ceramic use by introducing the Integral model. Additionally, the Integral featured a sapphire crystal (not yet the ne plus ultra of watch crystals; in fact sapphire crystal was almost non-existent in this decade), whose edge bordered the ceramic case seamlessly, lending it a feel of one continuous piece, which prompted the model’s name.
