I have a confession to make. I might be somewhat biased when it comes to German watchmaking. German is my second foreign language. I drive a German car. I love German watch photographers. Glashütte Original was one of the first watch brands that I wrote about seven years ago when I started writing about watches. Glashütte Original was one of my first manufacture visits. The biggest story I ever wrote about watchmaking was a multi-brand story made in the fascinating small city of Glashütte. I have been invited to the Berlinale all three years that Glashütte Original has been a sponsor. So yes, I am a fan of German watchmaking. But this is still a true, unbiased story.
