Vacheron Constantin celebrates the art of 19th century botanical illustration in its new Métiers d’Art Florilège collection of timepieces, inspired by botanist Robert John Thornton’s The Temple of Flora, published in 1799. The dial of the White Lily watch, shown here in a 37mm 18k white gold case, features hand guilloché and Grand Feu cloisonné translucent enameling, proving at least one thing: The advent of the digital era may have made mechanical watchmaking technically obsolete, but the renaissance in artistic techniques has helped save the genre from irrelevance. $125,600. www.vacheron-constantin.com
