When one considers that watches appear to be a fascination more distinctly for many men – they’re ‘male jewellery’ and so on – believe it or not, women like watches too. Indeed, many of the big guns are gearing up to cater to a female customer increasingly as intrigued by the movement as the style of their timepieces. ‘Jewels of Time’, admittedly, focuses more on beauty over any beast of a mechanism, notably those pieces that have been inspired by art, architecture and, of course, fashion. Inevitably there is a leaning towards those one-of-a-kind pieces that come heavy with the jewels too, among them Chopard’s Happy Diamonds – the former is the effect on a woman upon receiving the latter, legend has it. £45
