Plaza Watch International - - Plaza Watch -

Time… the most common noun in the English language. Which is not surprising when you think about it. We all talk about it constantly. “Is that the time?” “There aren’t enough hours in the day” “Where does the time go?”

It’s the one thing we all have but there never seems to be enough of it. And what would we do without it? Albert Einstein once said that time only exists “so that everything doesn't happen at once”. But how does time happen?

I once crashed a truck in Australia and I distinctly recall the clouds and treetops slowly twirling as the vehicle flipped through the air. The seconds that could have been my last stretched out for what seemed like minutes. It was typical of how time warps.

Our perception of time is in constant flux; speeding up and slowing down depending on the events happening around us. Is time moving toward us, or are we moving through it? Does time speed up as we get older?

I’d like to say we answer some of these questions in this issue of Plaza Watch. But we don’t. We do, however, have lots of fascinating features about watches, the essential companions that measure time for us. Join Plaza founder and publisher Christopher Östlund with Chopard at the historic Mille Miglia race in Italy, and come with us into the inner sanctum of Rolex. We also review all that’s new from leading brands such as Patek Philippe, Breguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, A. Lange & Soehne, Oris, Omega, Breitling and many more.

Theophrastus said, “Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend.”

But after that, there will always be fine timepieces. So, enjoy the issue.
