Following the modern affection for all-things vintage, Longines have now introduced to their Heritage collection the Twenty Four Hour Push Piece Chronograph. The new model is a contemporary re-issue of the brand’s own period watch, which is currently displayed in the Longines watch museum in St. Imier, Switzerland. Despite a tongue-tying name, the watch itself is remarkably simple in design. It is inspired by a 1950s aviator model that Longines originally designed as a pocket watch. As it is based on a historical timepiece, the steel case measures in at an impressive 47.5mm, which was a typical feature on military aviation watches, as traditionally watches were not worn around the pilot’s wrist, but in fact around his thigh.
