JEAN- MARC PONTROUE
What is a lasting memory from any of the last 25 years of the SIHH?
I will always remember the stunned look in the eyes of our guests and visitors at the SIHH 2013. 2013 is the year we celebrated Excalibur with an incredible Roger Dubuis World: a 5-metre wide Golden Eagle, the symbol of Geneva and the Poinçon de Genève (Seal of Geneva). I believe this impressive demonstration of our brand theatrics will remain a highlight of the SIHH for many years… or maybe only until this January, as we are coming back with a new incredible Roger Dubuis World which will once again surprise visitors!
What is your favourite watch from any SIHH and why?
It has to be the Excalibur Quatuor revealed in 2013. Excalibur Quatuor is the world’s first silicon watch incorporating four sprung balances. This major innovation presents the ultimate challenge in compensating for gravity. The Excalibur Quatuor symbolises the mechanical magic of our Manufacture. It pushes the limits in terms of precision and marks one of the major advances in contemporary watchmaking.
