What does Baselworld mean to you per­son­ally and pro­fes­sion­ally, and how do you pre­pare for it?

Baselworld is the an­nual kick-off for the year ahead and it’s al­ways ex­tremely im­por­tant to gauge re­ac­tions from our cus­tomers when we present a new col­lec­tion. We start prepa­ra­tion the year be­fore on the new col­lec­tion, mar­ket­ing mes­sage, stand de­sign, plan­ning ev­ery­thing. Once Baselworld starts, all is in place due to the hard work of al­most ev­ery­body at the com­pany, es­pe­cially the Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Depart­ment. The days in Basel them­selves are al­ways hec­tic and ex­cit­ing at the same time.

What is one of your favourite mem­o­ries from any of the pre­vi­ous Baselworld fairs?

Our an­nual Dis­trib­u­tor Din­ners are al­ways a high­light in Basel. We or­gan­ise this event ev­ery year on Sun­day evening, so right in the mid­dle of Baselworld. 200 of our best cus­tomers join an evening with mu­sic, good food, laugh­ter and the very im­por­tant Awards Cer­e­mony, dur­ing which we an­nounce and cel­e­brate win­ning cus­tomers for the year.
