The watch: Seiko M516 The movie: Ghostbusters (1984) The actors: Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis

Plaza Watch International - - Time At The Movies -

A team of scientists searches for elusive ghosts and ghouls. This is the simple – and bizarre – premise of this classic movie directed by Ivan Reitman, which was a huge success in the 80s. The film is also celebrated by an hugely popular soundtrack. Ray (Dan Aykroyd), Egon (Harold Ramis) and Peter (Bill Murray) are all seen using new-fangled gadgets, between them a Seiko M516 that has the Voice Note functionality built into the watch, and it can be used to pick up Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP), which is “essential” when attempting to track down ghosts. This model was released in 1983 and was produced in a limited edition. It is said that the quality was poor but the price was high for its day. Its most striking feature was a voice recorder that offered a surprisingly tiny four or eight seconds of audio capacity!
