17 coun­tries to take part in Dig­i­tal Me­dia con­test

Artists from 17 coun­tries will par­tic­i­pate in the 4th In­ter­na­tional Car­toon Con­test, ‘Dig­i­tal Me­dia’, slated to be held in East Azarbai­jan from May 5 to 10.

Artists from Al­ge­ria, Aus­tria, Bel­gium, Brazil, China, In­dia, In­done­sia, Iran, Italy, Mace­do­nia, Peru, Poland, Ser­bia, Syria, Mon­tene­gro, the US and Ukraine have so far sub­mit­ted works to the sec­re­tariat of the event , Head of Tabriz car­toon­ist as­so­ci­a­tion Rahim Baqqal-as­ghari told re­porters, ifilmtv. ir re­ported.

The event has been or­ga­nized as part of the pro­gram to mark Tabriz 2018, he said.

The most im­por­tant top­ics of the con­test are: In­ter­net, so­cial net­work­ing, gam­ing and dig­i­tal en­ter­tain­ment, cell­phones, com­put­ers, dig­i­tal life­styles, con­tent shar­ing, kids and on­line and pri­vacy, Baqqal-as­ghari added.

All artists as well as car­toon­ists, car­i­ca­tur­ists, painters, il­lus­tra­tors, are wel­come to sub­mit their en­tries be­fore April 9.

Some of the se­lected works will be printed in a brochure, on posters, in the world press or other printed mat­ter, bring­ing fur­ther ex­po­sure for ea­ger artists.

Awards are be­stowed upon win­ners of the event, with a cash en­dow­ment as part of the pack­age.

The city, a key lo­ca­tion on the Silk Road and a gateway to Europe and East Asia, has been named by the Or­ga­ni­za­tion of Is­lamic Co­op­er­a­tion (OIC) as the 2018 tourism cap­i­tal of Is­lamic coun­tries.
