Iran, Turkey dis­cuss co­op­er­a­tion on se­cu­rity

Ira­nian In­te­rior Min­is­ter Ab­dol­reza Rah­mani Fa­zli and his Turk­ish coun­ter­part Su­ley­man Soylu on Thurs­day dis­cussed fur­ther co­op­er­a­tion on bor­der se­cu­rity and fight against ter­ror­ism, drugs and hu­man traf­fick­ing.

Rah­mani Fa­zli, who paid a one-day visit to Turkey, said that co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the two neigh­bors is pro­ceed­ing very well, IRNA re­ported.

On the bor­der se­cu­rity, the Ira­nian of­fi­cial said cur­rently, the two sides’ po­lice have a very good co­op­er­a­tion which is go­ing to be con­tin­ued in the fu­ture.

Tehran and Ankara should also spare no ef­fort to broaden eco­nomic co­op­er­a­tion and tourism, Fa­zli Rah­mani said.

The Turk­ish in­te­rior min­is­ter said the two coun­tries have taken pos­i­tive steps re­sult­ing in re­mark­able achieve­ments.

He also hailed the grow­ing re­la­tions be­tween Tehran and Ankara in the fields of mi­grants and se­cu­rity in the past one-anda-half years.
