Ira­ni­ans bag dou­ble Greco-ro­man golds at youth Olympics

Ira­nian Greco-ro­man wrestlers col­lected a cou­ple of gold medals at the 2018 Sum­mer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Ar­gentina, on Fri­day. On the eighth day of the multi-sport event, Mo­ham­mad Nos­rati – rep­re­sent­ing Iran in the men’s 92kg weight divi­sion – out­mus­cled Turkey’s Os­man Ayadin 5-3 in the fi­nal bout to clinch Iran’s fifth gold in the Games.

Rus­sia’s Mukham­mad Evloev beat his Egyp­tian op­po­nent to take the bronze in the same cat­e­gory.

Ear­lier in the day, Amir­reza De­hbo­zorgi had opened Iran’s ac­count in the Greco-ro­man con­tests by an em­phatic 8-0 vic­tory over Ecuador’s Jeremy Per­alta Gon­za­lez in the men’s 45kg fi­nal.

Edmond Ar­men Nazaryan over­came a wrestler from Turk­menistan to bag the bronze.

Hav­ing started on Oc­to­ber 6, the third edi­tion of the event will fin­ish on Oc­to­ber 18.
