TEHRAN - Member of Iran’s Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati said on Thursday that imposing a ban on selling passenger planes to Iran constitutes a blatant violation of the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and the major world powers.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference attended by Iranian academics, Velayati said the move indicates that we should not trust the U.S. and its allies.

‘The Islamic Republic of Iran does not need the United States to promote its goals,’ he said.

After about four decades since victory of the Islamic Revolution, the West continues to behave inappropriately, he said. That is why such an approach by the West towards Iran is not going to surprise us, Velayati added.
